Judge Wang is the Presiding Judge of the Midtown Community Justice Center, the nation’s first community court, providing diversion and alternative-to-incarceration programs for young adults and individuals facing mental health or substance abuse challenges. A proud member of AABANY, Judge Wang made history as the first Asian American elected to the 1st Municipal District of the NYC Civil Court. He is the 2024 recipient of the Hon. Robert T. Russell Jr. Award of Innovation for jurists who provide kindness, compassion, leadership and dedication to the treatment court field. Currently, Judge Wang serves on the New York State Judiciary's Task Force on Mental Health and is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Calhoun School. He lives in Manhattan with his wife and two kids.
