Da-Wai Hu is the General Counsel of Chewy, Inc., where he leads the Legal, Risk and Corporate Responsibility Department and oversees legal, compliance, enterprise risk management, insurance, government affairs, and ESG.
Previously, Da-Wai was the General Counsel of Checkout Payments Group Limited, a privately held global payments technology company. Da-Wai also spent over a decade at Amazon.com, Inc., where he served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel and led teams that supported Amazon’s international and cross-border consumer businesses. Earlier in his career, Da-Wai was a corporate lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions at Sullivan & Cromwell and Paul Weiss.
Da-Wai received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his law degree from The University of Chicago Law School. Following law school, Da-Wai served as a law clerk for Judge Morris Sheppard Arnold of the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and for Judge Ralph K. Winter of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
